Return To Work (RTO) Na – Which Stock wins?

I’m sure you’ve seen it in the news and even on Social Media. Starting April 1, IT-BPO firms need to comply with the government’s return-to-office (RTO) order.

So, yep, balik office na!  But dont worry hindi naman lahat. Only those who are in the IT and BPO who are working in a PEZA building are required.

As usual, one might wonder since we’re all investors in the Philippine Stock Market, which stock will benefit from this RTO order? Well, dont worry, I’ll share them to you. I saw this from a commentary report by AB Securities by the way.

Mainly its the property sector, especially the REIT stocks that will benefit from this order. We expect to see a boost in real estate leasing as ITBPO firms rebuild their on-site presence. There are also the Retail stores and fast food. Yeah right, I’m sure you already know that. But who specifically?

Ayala Land's AREIT

Property companies such as AREIT (PSE:$AREIT) should benefit from the PEZA law given their huge BPO portfolio which stands at around 97% BPO tenant.

Filinvest's REIT

Similar to AREIT, Filinvest REIT ($PSE:FILRT) boasts 90% BPO tenant base

Its a no brainer that one of those that will greatly benefited by the RTO are the retail stores like $PSE:RRHI

Philippine Seven Corporation

Who can forget about $PSE:SEVN. Those murang snacks like hotdog, siopao, gulp and slurpee (meron pa ba nito?) will certainly flourish once more.

Jollibee Food Corporation

Of course, the forever popular Jollibee ($PSE: JFC) chickenjoy. I dont think there's an explanation needed here. Right?

Of course there are others pa. This isn’t an all absolute list and certainly other sectors like the infrastructure and even the tourism sector may benefit from this order however indirectly.

Although, I can also say that Telco sector might get a hit from this though even on a short term.
